The Acadia University Career and Experiential Learning office is dedicated to empowering students by providing comprehensive career support and practical learning opportunities. The office offers personalized guidance for job searches, career planning, and skill development, ensuring students are well-prepared for the professional world. Additionally, it coordinates co-op programs, internships, and other experiential learning initiatives, allowing students to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. With a focus on both career readiness and hands-on experience, the Career and Experiential Learning office plays a crucial role in helping students succeed during and after their time at Acadia.

Founded in 1993, we’re one of the UK's most recognizable insurance and financial service providers. With a history of innovation and organic growth, what started as a small start-up has grown to include over 9 million customers across 8 countries, employing close to 11,000 people.

In 2007, Admiral launched its Canadian office in Halifax with 20 staff. Today, we employ 450 people throughout Nova Scotia who support our UK customer base. In 2022, with remote working on the rise, we began recruiting for Admiral Tech in Canada, bringing our world-class tech department to Canada for the first time.

Our Tech Department consists of over 600 people, covering a wide range of areas from selecting, designing, developing, and operating the best solutions for our customers, managing risk, and ensuring our data and systems are secure.

The Canada Learning Code Halifax Chapter, part of the non-profit national organization Canada Learning Code supported by Upskill Canada and the Government of Canada, is working to create pathways for underrepresented communities in the tech sector by collaborating with community organizations within the HRM region to bring learning experiences to our community through workshops, code meetings and national program offerings. Our national offerings include a Google Cybersecurity Bootcamp Certificate program and Code to Career (C2C). C2C fully subsidizes Software Engineering boot camps to provide training to individuals in Canada who have been historically and currently underrepresented in the tech sector. Eligible participants can receive access to a full-time online boot camp that will provide the skills and network needed to advance their careers. The boot camp has a value of $16,000, but this program allows individuals access for only $250! (or even less if finances are a barrier).
